Dutch researchers reportedly have grown half-inch strips of pork meat using stem cells from pig muscles according to the Associated Press. Some estimate it could take up to 30 days to create a pork chop.

Researchers admit they have yet to duplicate the protein content of regular pork, leading to a looser texture.

While some researchers believe lab-created meat could receive doses of healthy nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, others question the health and safety of lab-created meats.
