Unconventional Angels, a program launched by Vitamin Angels, the Organic Trade Association and The Organic Center, aims to bring one million coupon books to natural product retailers throughout the United States this October.

The coupon book will provide discounts on branded products such as dietary supplements, personal care, natural foods and organic foods.

Organizers hope to spark more interest in natural products particularly as coupon redemption increases. Estimates indicate coupon redemption in the fourth quarter of 2008 rose 17 percent over the previous year.

Many well known natural product manufactures have already joined the program. The deadline to apply for inclusion is July 15. Participating retailers include Whole Foods, New Seasons and PCC Natural Markets.
